Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo

Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo is a prominent performing arts center located in northern Bogotá, Colombia. Opened on May 26, 2010, and designed by architect Daniel Bermúdez, the theater features a main auditorium with a seating capacity of approximately 1,320 and a 500-seat studio theater. The venue is recognized for its excellent acoustics and environmentally friendly design, utilizing natural light and ventilation.

The theater hosts a diverse array of cultural events, including symphony concerts, opera, ballet, theater, and contemporary dance. It is home to Colombia's leading orchestras, such as the National Symphony and the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra. The Teatro Mayor also organizes the Bogotá International Classical Music Festival and promotes Colombian talent through initiatives like "Colombia es Música." With over 1,500 performances featuring artists from around the world, it has reached more than 19 million beneficiaries through live attendance and digital broadcasts, making it a vital cultural hub in Bogotá and Latin America.
