Allen & Unwin is an independent Australian publishing company based in New South Wales. Established in 1976 as a subsidiary of the UK firm George Allen & Unwin Ltd, it became fully independent in 1990. The company has since become the most successful independent publisher in Australia, publishing up to 250 new titles annually across various genres.

The publishing portfolio includes literary and commercial fiction, popular and serious non-fiction, academic and professional books, as well as children's and young adult literature. Allen & Unwin also manages Murdoch Books and serves as the Australian and New Zealand agent for several other publishers. Additionally, the company collaborates with Faber to offer writing courses through the Faber Writing Academy in Sydney and Melbourne.
