Nebraska Medicine is a prominent academic medical center and the oldest healthcare organization in Nebraska, established in 1869. It was formed through several mergers, most notably the 1997 merger of Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital and University Hospital. In 2014, it became a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing advanced healthcare services, closely affiliated with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
