Inspired by the coastal lifestyle between Rottnest Island and Fremantle, the brewery emphasizes independence and freedom in its operations. The company employs around 240 people, with 20% of its shares owned by employees, showcasing a strong internal investment. John Hoedemaker, the founder, serves as Managing Director, alongside founding employee Aaron Heary as Executive Director of Strategy, Brand, and Hospitality.

The brewery produces various craft beers, including traditional all-malt lagers brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law. Their notable product, "Huey," is designed to be sessionable and accessible.
