Folds of Honor

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization established in 2007 by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, a former F-16 fighter pilot and PGA professional. Its mission is to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders. The organization aims to honor these heroes by empowering their families through education, offering hope and opportunities for a brighter future.

Since its inception, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships totaling over $290 million across all 50 states. The scholarships cover a range of educational needs, including private school tuition, college tuition, technical or trade school tuition, and funding for post-graduate education. The organization is committed to diversity, with 45% of scholarship recipients being minorities. Folds of Honor is recognized for its transparency and effectiveness, holding a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar.
