DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization based in the United States, founded in 2000 by Charles Best, a social studies teacher in the Bronx. The organization operates an online platform that allows public school teachers to request funding for classroom projects directly from individual donors. Its mission is to empower teachers and enhance public school classrooms by connecting them with those who want to support educational resources.

Since its national launch in 2007, DonorsChoose has expanded to serve nearly 90% of public schools across the country. The platform enables teachers to create project requests for a variety of needs, from basic supplies to technology and specialized learning materials. Donors can browse these projects and contribute funds directly, fostering a community of support for education. The organization has raised over $1.64 billion to fund nearly 3 million classroom projects, benefiting more than 889,000 teachers. DonorsChoose also engages in disaster relief efforts to assist schools affected by natural disasters.
