Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. is a prominent American video game developer and publisher based in Irvine, California. Founded in 1991, the company initially focused on porting games before creating original titles. It became known as Blizzard Entertainment in 1994 after being acquired by Davidson & Associates.

Blizzard is celebrated for its influential video game franchises, including World of Warcraft, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game; the Diablo series, known for its dark fantasy themes; the StarCraft series, a popular sci-fi real-time strategy game; and Overwatch, a team-based first-person shooter.
