Safaricom Alpha is an innovation incubator established in 2017 by Safaricom, Kenya’s largest telecommunications provider. Located in Nairobi, it aims to develop new products and services by leveraging insights from M-Pesa, Safaricom's flagship mobile money service. The incubator focuses on expanding fintech solutions and connecting users to various offerings, including digital TV, solar-powered lighting kits, bill payment services, and ride-hailing apps.

Operating as a semi-independent unit within Safaricom, Safaricom Alpha seeks to diversify the company's revenue streams and enhance its product portfolio. It targets M-Pesa users, Safaricom’s mobile subscribers, small businesses, and consumers in Kenya. The incubator is committed to fostering innovation through both in-house development and strategic partnerships.
