Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2003 in Roanoke, Virginia. It is dedicated to honoring and empowering wounded veterans who have incurred physical or mental injuries related to their military service since September 11, 2001. The organization serves nearly 2 million veterans and their families across the country, providing comprehensive support tailored to their evolving needs.

WWP offers a variety of programs focused on mental health, physical wellness, financial readiness, connection, and advocacy. Key initiatives include the Warrior Care Network, which provides intensive treatment for veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injury, and the Backpacks Program, which distributes comfort items to injured veterans transitioning to civilian life. Additional services include mental health support, VA benefits assistance, and resources for family members and caregivers. WWP aims to empower wounded veterans and help them thrive in civilian life.
