Visit Buffalo

Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy (BOPC) is a nonprofit organization focused on the stewardship and maintenance of Buffalo’s historic Olmsted-designed park and parkway system, which spans approximately 850 acres. Established in 1978 and renamed in 1995, BOPC became the first nonprofit in the U.S. to manage an entire historic urban park system through a public-private partnership with the City of Buffalo and Erie County in 2004.

BOPC's mission is to enhance the park system for the benefit of the community, ensuring equitable access to beautiful and thriving green spaces. The organization manages daily upkeep and long-term restoration projects, collaborates with community members and partners, and engages in fundraising to support its initiatives. BOPC also focuses on educational programs to raise awareness about the parks' heritage and implements restoration projects aligned with its master plan. The Conservancy serves the residents of Buffalo and surrounding areas, welcoming all to enjoy the parks' natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
