Overview

The United Soybean Board (USB) is a farmer-led organization that oversees the U.S. soybean commodity checkoff program. This program is funded by soybean farmers through a 0.5% assessment on the market price of soybeans sold each season. The USB consists of 73 to 77 volunteer farmer-directors who are nominated by state-level Qualified State Soybean Boards and appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Established in 1991, the USB's mission is to strategically invest checkoff funds to boost demand and profitability for U.S. soybean farmers. The Board focuses on various initiatives, including research to improve soybean production, market development to expand domestic and international markets, and promotion to raise awareness of soybean products. The USB also collaborates with supply chain partners to enhance the utilization of soybeans in animal feed, food products, and industrial applications. Through these efforts, the USB aims to support U.S. soybean farmers and enhance the overall soybean industry.
