Overview

The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) is the oldest and largest nonprofit professional trade association for the restoration industry, founded in 1946. Originally established as the National Institute of Rug Cleaning, RIA has evolved to represent approximately 20,000 cleaning and restoration professionals from over 1,100 member firms across the United States.

RIA provides leadership, advocacy, education, and professional standards for its members. It offers certification programs, such as the Certified Restorer (CR), and ongoing training to help members stay updated on industry best practices. The association advocates for restoration professionals on various issues and organizes networking events, mentorship programs, and volunteer opportunities to foster collaboration.
