Share Waves Foundation

ShareWaves is a nonprofit sports foundation dedicated to providing equitable access to sports for children in the Kansas City metro area. Founded by Bill Brandmeyer in collaboration with Sports Radio 810 WHB, the organization is inspired by Nelson Mandela’s vision of sports as a transformative force. ShareWaves aims to eliminate barriers that prevent children from participating in sports due to financial or systemic challenges.

The foundation offers various programs, including grants to support youth sports initiatives, sports clinics to teach skills, and advocacy efforts to promote equity in sports. ShareWaves also engages in storytelling to raise awareness about youth sports access and partners with local organizations to deliver tailored sports opportunities for underserved populations. Recognized as a 2023 Aspen Institute Project Play Champion, ShareWaves is committed to fostering healthy development among children through sports, ensuring that every child can experience the benefits of physical activity and community engagement.
