The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is the largest philanthropic organization in the U.S. focused on health. Established in 1949 and based in Princeton, New Jersey, RWJF aims to create a healthier and more equitable America. The foundation addresses structural racism and other barriers to health by funding research, supporting community initiatives, and advocating for systemic change in health care and public health.

RWJF's work is organized around four main areas: Healthy Communities, Healthy Children and Families, Leadership for Better Health, and Health Systems. These initiatives promote equitable community development, support families, develop health equity leaders, and enhance collaboration among health organizations. The foundation funds a variety of programs, including grants for health equity scholars and community health projects, while also engaging in advocacy and stakeholder convening to drive progress in health equity. With an endowment valued at approximately $13 billion, RWJF is a significant force in advancing public health initiatives in the U.S.
