Prison Fellowship

Prison Fellowship is the largest Christian nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to serving prisoners, former prisoners, and their families. Founded in 1976 by Charles “Chuck” Colson, the organization focuses on restoring lives affected by crime and incarceration through spiritual renewal and practical support. It operates on the belief in human dignity and redemption, aiming to break the cycle of crime by transforming individuals through faith-based programs.

The organization offers various programs, including the Prison Fellowship Academy®, which helps incarcerated individuals develop positive values and prepare for reintegration into society. The Angel Tree program supports children of incarcerated parents by providing Christmas gifts and fostering family connections. Additionally, Justice Fellowship advocates for criminal justice reform, while Inside Journal delivers encouragement and spiritual guidance to inmates. Prison Fellowship also engages in international efforts through Prison Fellowship International, connecting prison ministries worldwide and participating in global discussions on restorative justice.
