Overview

The National Pork Board (NPB) is a U.S.-based organization dedicated to advancing the pork industry through promotion, research, and consumer information programs. Established under the Pork Promotion, Research, and Consumer Information Act of 1985, it is funded by assessments on pigs sold in the U.S. and imported pork products. NPB's mission is to unite pork producers and stakeholders to elevate U.S. pork as a preferred global protein while promoting sustainable practices.

NPB engages in various activities, including market development and promotion to increase pork consumption, funding research on nutrition, food safety, and animal welfare, and providing consumer insights to inform industry strategies. The organization also advocates for policies that protect the interests of pork producers and ensure the industry's sustainability. Governed by a board of 15 pork producers and importers, NPB represents the interests of the entire U.S. pork supply chain, including producers, processors, retailers, and consumers.
