PFLAG

PFLAG National is a nonprofit organization established in 1981 that supports LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies through education, advocacy, and community-building. Originating from grassroots efforts in the early 1970s, PFLAG has grown to nearly 400 chapters and several hundred thousand members across the United States. The organization was founded in Los Angeles by Adele Starr and has played a significant role in advancing LGBTQ+ civil rights.

PFLAG offers peer support groups for families and friends of LGBTQ+ individuals, educational programs for schools and faith communities, and advocacy efforts at various levels to promote LGBTQ+ rights. It provides resources such as brochures, guides, and online content to help families and allies understand LGBTQ+ issues and foster acceptance. PFLAG emphasizes inclusivity, expanding its focus to include bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals, reflecting its commitment to supporting the entire LGBTQ+ community.
