Overview
Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is a nonprofit organization based in Draper, Utah, dedicated to educating and inspiring visitors about Earth's diverse ecosystems. Since its opening in March 2014, the Aquarium has welcomed over eight million guests and offers extensive educational programs for all ages. It houses nearly 5,000 animals from over 600 species and showcases more than 600 plant species, representing ecosystems from kelp forests to South American rain forests.
Founded in 1997 by Brent Andersen, the Aquarium has grown from a mobile educational initiative to a world-class facility. In 2020, it expanded with the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza, which includes the EECO (Ecosystem Exploration Craft and Observatory) and various gardens and event spaces. The Aquarium serves a wide audience, including families, school groups, and tourists, and is committed to fostering environmental stewardship through hands-on learning experiences.
