The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization founded in 1920, rooted in the women's suffrage movement. Its mission is to empower voters and strengthen democracy through education and advocacy. The League aims to help citizens understand and exercise their voting rights while influencing public policy for the common good.

LWV provides nonpartisan information about elections, candidates, and voting processes to support informed decision-making. It engages in advocacy and lobbying on various social and political issues, including voting rights and social justice. The organization also promotes civic engagement through citizenship schools, "Get Out the Vote" campaigns, candidate forums, and the distribution of educational materials like voter guides and informational booklets.

With local and state chapters across the United States, the League serves a diverse audience, including newly enfranchised voters, citizens interested in civic education, and policymakers. The League of Women Voters is committed to fostering informed and active participation in the democratic process.
