Iowa Soybean Association

The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) is a farmer-founded and farmer-governed organization established in 1964 to advocate for Iowa’s soybean producers. Representing nearly 37,000 soybean farmers, including about 6,700 members, ISA is governed by a board of 22 farmers. Its mission focuses on increasing soybean demand through market development, research, timely information, and policy advocacy.

ISA's core activities are organized into five focus areas: Engagement, Productivity, Demand, Advocacy, and Operational Excellence. The organization builds relationships with farmers and industry stakeholders, conducts research to improve farming practices, develops markets for soybeans, empowers farmers in policy discussions, and maximizes its resources for greater impact. ISA invests checkoff dollars to support these initiatives, including partnerships with institutions like Iowa State University. The association has played a key role in elevating soybeans to a major commodity in Iowa's agricultural economy.
