Homes for Our Troops

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a nonprofit organization established in 2004 that builds and donates specially adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans across the United States. The organization focuses on Veterans with life-altering injuries, providing them with mortgage-free homes that exceed ADA standards and include over 40 adaptations for full accessibility. These homes are constructed in locations chosen by the Veterans, allowing them to regain independence and focus on their recovery and personal goals.

In addition to home construction, HFOT offers support services such as pro-bono financial planning for three years, homeownership education, and ongoing assistance after home delivery. Since its founding, HFOT has completed over 410 homes in 45 states and currently manages around 75 active projects. The organization is recognized for its efficiency, with nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent on program services for Veterans. HFOT has received high ratings for transparency and accountability from various charity evaluators, reflecting its commitment to ethical practices and support for those it serves.
