Overview

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), established in 1884, is a key institution in Hong Kong, known for promoting horse racing and sports wagering. As the sole authorized operator of horse racing and off-track betting in the region, HKJC plays a significant role in the local economy and social development. It operates two major racecourses, Happy Valley and Sha Tin, and manages a network of around 110 off-track betting centers, along with online betting platforms.

In addition to its racing and wagering services, HKJC is a major charitable contributor through its Charities Trust, focusing on youth development, health, education, and community support. The Trust approved HK$1.4 billion for various initiatives in the 2024-25 fiscal year, demonstrating the Club's commitment to societal betterment. HKJC also hosts a variety of entertainment events and is expanding its global presence with the upcoming Conghua Racecourse in China, set to open in October 2026.
