Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR)

FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal) is a national foundation committed to strengthening the social and economic fabric of Australia's remote, rural, and regional communities. Established in 2000 through a partnership between the Australian Government and the Sidney Myer Fund, FRRR aims to create vibrant and resilient communities by aligning investments with the specific needs of local populations.

The foundation provides funding and capacity-building support tailored to smaller communities, often with populations under 2,000. To date, FRRR has awarded over $200 million in grants to more than 15,000 projects. Its initiatives include broad-based grants, community-led development support, and partnerships with various stakeholders to enhance local capabilities. Additionally, FRRR produces research and reports on topics like community resilience and disaster preparedness, contributing valuable insights to stakeholders involved in rural development.
