For The Innocent

The Innocence Center is an independent nonprofit law firm based in San Diego, California, founded in 2023. Its mission is to free wrongfully convicted individuals from prison, educate the public about wrongful convictions, and support exonerees in their reintegration into society. Established by experienced legal professionals, the Center has collectively freed over 40 innocent people who served more than 560 years for crimes they did not commit.

The Center operates with a three-part mission: exoneration through innovative methods, public education on the causes of wrongful convictions, and support for exonerees. Its services include legal representation, public education campaigns, policy advocacy, and support services for those released from prison. The Innocence Center serves a national and international clientele, receiving over 1,500 new requests for assistance annually. As a member of the Innocence Network, it collaborates with other organizations to prevent wrongful convictions and promote justice for the innocent.
