Founded in 2012, it became Scotland's first combined distillery and brewery in 2014, focusing exclusively on spirits after ceasing beer production in 2018. The distillery operates on a 38-acre site known as the Eden Campus, which has historical ties to 19th-century whisky distilling.

The company specializes in premium Scottish coastal gins and luxury single malt Scotch whiskies, using traditional distillation methods alongside modern sustainability practices. In 2021, it was acquired by Inverleith LLP to support the development of a new energy-efficient distillery, set to open in 2024.
