In all that we publish and record, Crime Story seeks to highlight thematic, character-driven work that explores the functions (and dysfunctions) of the US criminal justice system. Pieces for Crime Story — regardless of form — are first and foremost concerned with examining how the idea of ‘justice' shapes the narratives we see, hear, and experience and how narratives can shape what is considered to be ‘just.' At Crime Story character, emotional engagement, and visceral engagement are paramount in the work we put out into the world.
