City Bar

The New York City Bar Association, also known as the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, is a historic professional organization for lawyers founded in 1870. Located in midtown Manhattan, it serves as a central hub for the legal community, hosting events and meetings while promoting the interests of the public and the integrity of the legal profession.

With over 24,000 members, the City Bar includes lawyers at all career stages, from solo practitioners to large firm attorneys, as well as professionals from nonprofit, government, academia, and the judiciary. The Association offers a variety of services, including continuing legal education courses, career development programs, and pro bono opportunities. It is also active in public interest advocacy, focusing on issues such as judicial reform, civil rights, and social justice. Through its efforts, the City Bar aims to enhance access to justice and uphold the rule of law for underserved communities.
