Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO), founded in 1895, is one of the oldest orchestras in the United States. Established by an all-female board led by Helen Herron “Nellie” Taft, the orchestra has a rich history of artistic excellence. It has hosted renowned conductors and composers and has premiered significant works, including U.S. premieres of Mahler’s Symphonies and world premieres of Copland’s compositions. The CSO performs at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, its home since 1896.
