Chaminade University

Chaminade University of Honolulu is a private Roman Catholic university located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1955 by the Marianists, it offers a faith-based education rooted in the values of its founder, Father William Joseph Chaminade. Initially established as St. Louis Junior College, it has grown to provide a wide range of academic programs, including 26 undergraduate degrees, six graduate programs, and five doctoral programs across various fields such as liberal arts, business, nursing, and Hawaiian studies.

The campus features Spanish Mission-inspired architecture and modern facilities, including the Sullivan Family Library and specialized centers for nursing and science education. Chaminade also caters to adult learners with evening programs designed for those balancing work and family commitments. In addition to its academic offerings, the university supports varsity athletics with its Silverswords teams competing in NCAA Division II, promoting school spirit and community engagement.
